1. We spend a lot of time looking for extra knowledge called enlightenment, but it doesn’t work that way.
2. The enlightened see things differently.
This is why metaphors for enlightenment are about changing your orientation while keeping your position.
You’re still where you are. You just:
Same life, different attribution.
The enlightened no longer credit the world for how the world appears.
3. I once saw a beautiful video about kids who were rescued from Al-Qaeda.
The kids in the video were in the care of a wonderful Saudi psychologist.
They’re just kids, but they’d been programmed to experience hatred and react with violence.
When they came to her, they were almost comically serious. It’s not a funny situation, but it’s kind of amusing to watch a ten-year-old go on a political rant.
Fast-forward to a few weeks later, and we see this incredible healer playing basketball with the kids and laughing with them.
When healing is accomplished, they’re kids again.
They’d been taught to believe they are agents of righteousness in an evil world.
The irony is clear.
The enlightened have been deprogrammed, too.
How did they do it?
I guess it differs in each case. Somehow, each one realized everything they thought they know is nonsense.
They reset to factory settings.
When healing is accomplished, we’re kids again.
Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
